Timeless Manistee Light

Timeless Manistee Light

Timeless Manistee Light  With wind blowing at 25 knots, waves at 3 to 4 feet, and hard sun light, a long exposure seems impossible.  Enter a 6 stop neutral density filer and magic, a 5 second exposure tames those waves, calms the wind a bit, and takes those shadows out of the image.  The only problem; keeping the camera still with all that wind and sand blowing in your face.  A tripod helps, but only a little.

Round Island Light

Round Island Light

The Round Island Light, also known as the “Old Round Island Point Lighthouse”, is a lighthouse constructed in 1895 and located on the western shore of Round Island.  Located on the Straits of Mackinac just across the shipping lane from Mackinac Island, it is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world as thousands of tourists pass within a half mile of the 119 year old lighthouse on ferries each day during the summer season.
