Canada Goose
The Canada Goose, although a common species in northern Illinois, sometimes finds itself in an uncommon background. A big wind, a little water, and a setting sun all help to create the background patterns.

American Pelicans seem to be the clowns of the lake when they around. Their antics are such fun to watch as they play on their log perch.

The American Pelicans are back! They stop by a nearby lake each year on their way north. A few years ago the lake almost dried up. It has taken at least three years for the lake to regain its water. So, the pelicans stayed away for a few years. Finally, they’re back.

Snow on the Road on I-80 south of Chicago tonight made for an interesting show. It was not sticking, of course. Still, the cloud formation and the sunset accenting the large snow flakes made it well worth the slower traffic.

April Snow brings higher water levels in the lakes. We are lucky with at least one more day of beautiful snow this year. Northern Michigan rarely disappoints with a new layer of fresh snow.
