The Hike Up On the hike uphill to Hidden Lake, nice light shined through the forest canopy and gave me an excuse to stop, rest, and get a simple click.

The Hike My brother and his wife were hiking with me on the trail to Hidden Lake. The trail map says “moderate” and if you measure the entire trail, it’s probably accurate. Yet, the first half mile seemed like it was straight uphill. The lake must be 800 to 1000 feet above the Lamar Valley where we started. Still, it’s a great hike. More images will follow over the next few days.

Yellowstone Bison Yellowstone at its best; this image depicts Bison roaming through Yellowstone landscape dramatically changed by fire in the late 90’s. Although I have not seen them, this area is also famous as Grizzly Bear country.

This Yellowstone Coyote, hunting for voles, paid no attention to us motorists, along the road through Hayden Valley in Yellowstone. Without the Nikon 1 V1 and the 70-300mm lens yielding 810mm with the 2.7 crop factor, there’s no way I could have captured this image.

This bugling Bull Elk with a broken antler was hanging around Yellowstone’s Mammoth Springs with his harem of cows.
