Oshkosh also had a reenactment of a WWII Fighter Pilot with his .45 pistol and Mae West. These guys really take you back to WWII. They look like the original; in fact most of the cloths and gear they wear are, in fact, original.
WWII Half Track WWII re-enactments are big at air shows and fly-ins these days. These guys are showing off their half track with a 50 cal on top.
B-25 Panchito Oshkosh always has great warbirds to enjoy. Panchito seems to make many air shows and fly-ins each year and it’s been to Oshkosh for the past several years. This image show Panchito taxiing back just before the air show was it begin. Notice the rain on the cowling.
Howard DGA-15 Floatplane The seaplane base at Oshkosh is just loaded with beautiful planes. Next time you come to Air Adventure stop by the seaplane base.
OK, it’s not the greatest image. That said, it’s not often when flying into ORD, O’Hare, on a stormy day, do you get a chance to capture an image of the entire field through the clouds and mist. Sometimes, if you’re ready when the opportunity presents itself, you can capture the image. I had my camera out; resting on my briefcase. All of the sudden, the clouds parted and there it was, right in front of me, O’hare International Airport. I grabbed the camera turning on the power on the way to my cheek; finger on the shutter; half way down to auto focus, and click. A simple click and the scene was gone; we were back in the clouds.
More Floatplanes! The seaplane base at Oshkosh provides a more relaxed environment to enjoy Air adventure.
Floatplane Oshkosh week is in full swing. The weather did not co-operate much on Friday, but pilots were still active. This plane had just landed and was fast taxiing into shore. I don’t know the type of plane yet; could be a homebuilt.
