Young Eagle

11/06/2013 Young Eagle

Young Eagle  Yeah, this is the same Eagle that I posted last week; or, maybe his cousin.  Someone asked for a closer shot of this magnificent bird.  This image was captured just outside the ranch where a pair of Eagles seemed to hang out.  Once again, the Nikon V1 was my carry camera in the truck on the way to the store for supplies.  Then, just a simple click made my day.

Hyalite Creek

Hyalite Creek  Some folks have asked if I got wet on the trip.  This image was the last one before I slipped on a wet rock and fell into Hyalite Creek.  Yeah, it happens to me on occasion; actually fairly often.  So, I just got my leg and posterior wet; water was cold.  Actually, this image is a 5 shot HDR; makes it look a bit artsy.

Last Night

11/03/2013 Last Night

Last Night  Most good things come to an end.  This image was from our last night on the ranch and ends my string of Montana images from the trip.  If I find another good image, I may post it in the future.  Back to reality; everyday shooting!   If you notice the string of posts, it was the D3x for landscapes and the V1 for wildlife.  Actually, the two bodies worked very well together.  The V1 with the FT-1 was slung around my neck and on my side with a  sun sniper  strap usually with the 70-200mm lens attached.  And, the D3x was in my hands usually with the PC-E lens attached.  The tripod stayed in the truck unless needed to reduce the shutter speed or for a night shot. Although, this moon image was handheld using a post to steady the camera.
