Lazy Bull Moose

Lazy Bull Moose  A morning hike along the Gros Ventre River, which flows along the southeast border of the Grand Teton Nation Park, can uncover some photogenic critters.  This Bull Moose seemed to be taking his morning nap.  He was part of a small herd of  two bulls, several cows, and a couple of calves.  He did not mind me capturing several images; did not even get up.  Remember, I was farther away than the meta data indicates; 140mm x 2.7 corp factor of the Nikon 1 V1 equals nearly a 400mm focal length.

Yellowstone Silvertip Grizzly

Yellowstone Silvertip Grizzly  Lamar Valley in Yellowstone provides Grizzly Bears the habitat to be bears.  This Silvertip Grizzly was deep in the valley foraging for food to fatten up for winter hibernation.  At about 150 yards away, the Nikon V1 with the 70-200mm lens provided the reach to capture the image.   The wind was so strong I had a hard time getting a sharp image handheld.

Hyalite Canyon, again!

10/18/2013 Hyalite Canyon

Hyalite Canyon just keeps drawing you back.  It provides the photog with so many different challenges to make great images.  In this image, I slowed down the shutter just enough to get blur showing the water movement.  On other images, I tried a neutral density filter to slow it down more for even more blur, but I like this one the best.  The PC-E lens also helps to put the entire stream in focus.
