Lazy Boating Day Hey. It’s Labor Day Weekend. Time to relax and take a day off; or perhaps, a day on, the water. Yeah, that’s me being really lazy on a beautiful day. This water is Grand Traverse Bay and it just does not get any better than this; light winds, 80 degrees, nice skies, and 1-2 foot waves.
A Ranch Home After shooting numerous images for the owner of this ranch house, this one in B&W just seemed to reflect the origin of the ranch style homes back in the 1960s. And, the approaching storm helped to remove bald skies.
Hidden Grey Squirrel This time of year everything seems to be a shade of green; grass, leaves, water, weeds, etc. Without that little patch of light on his shout, I probably would not have spotted this little critter.
Cub on Floats Apparently, a number of folks like floatplanes, judging from the number of requests for more floatplane images coming my way. Floatplane flying gets no better than in a Piper Cub on floats. This pilot is hugging the coast to avoid larger waves and the wind.
Comfy Canine Some dogs get tired after a long day; nothing like a comfy bed to rest up. This image was passed through NIK’s Define to reduce the noise. There’s still a little, but not bad.
Walkabout Blimp So, what’s a Walkabout Blimp? Well, on my walkabout ,where I am usually looking for critters, I looked up and there it was; a blimp. It made a circle and finally moved in front of a few clouds for a better background.
Fall is coming! Yeah, you can just begin notice a little bit of fall. The summer color still fills most of the image, but fall tones are beginning to show.
Hawthorn Woods Tonight’s walkabout was late and not my usual route. It was just after sunset and the light was fading fast. With the ISO at 3200, the Nikon 1 V1 had lots of noise. A pass through NIK Define helped.
