Too Hot for Soccer? The Midwest has finally been hit with summer. Is it too hot for soccer camp? Well, probably, with temps in the 92’s and a heat index over 100, it’s hot. But, these soccer campers would not be deterred. They practiced a short time in the field. Then, their savvy coach took them to an inside, air conditioned gym to continue.
Baby Robins? Some folks have asked about the baby Robins. Well, they really do not look much like babies anymore. They’ll soon be flying. But, it has been interesting watching them grow. Out of the original four, only two are left. Apparently, it’s quite common to lose half before they are ready to fly.
Bargains With the weather almost perfect, it was a day to find street bargains. Even in harsh sun the Nikon 1 V1 can make a fine street camera.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner Oshkosh 2013 starts in only a couple of weeks so an Oshkosh image seems appropriate. There have been so many headlines in the news recently featuring the 787. This image,captured a few of years ago at Oshkosh before the 787 had entered service, shows the Dreamliner on its takeoff roll.
Cardinal Sunset It seems this Cardinal was enjoying tonight’s sunset in a tree over my walkabout.
Bird Gears Well, this situation just will not work out well. Building a nest in a boat hoist gear box is bound to cause grief. For now, all is right with the world. I’ll return in a week to see if the world has turned.
PA-23 Geronimo Apache A Geronimo is a remanufactured Piper PA-23 Apache with many mods. This beautiful example was flying around the airport today with a multi-engine student pilot taking his check ride. And, yes, he passed with flying colors. I am hoping to capture additional images of this plane in better light.
Mallard Female & Chicks This female Mallard and her chicks were very active walking around the lawn. Then, just for a few minutes, they paused to rest near the lake.
