Windmills

Windmills  This image was captured in northern Illinois, close to the farm where I grew up.  Wow, has the land and farming ever changed since I was a kid.  At one time, the family farm like ours was the mainstay of American agriculture.  Now, the family farms are all but gone.  The few that remain are huge.  Most farms are owned by corporations who hire the work done.  The hedge rows are gone and one farm abuts another.  The GPS tells the machinery operator which farm is which.  And, livestock production is mostly grown in large operations; not on the farm as it once was.
