Wild Rabbit Tonight’s walkabout turned up more rabbits than usual. Just a few years ago, rabbits were seldom seen on a walkabout. The coyotes kept the rabbit population very small. Now, with fewer coyotes, the rabbits are more plentiful. They make for nice company along the trail.

It’s not the best Great Blue Heron image I’ve ever captured, but it’s the first one this year. It might seem relatively easy to capture a good image of these big birds. Unfortunately, it does take a good bit of patience and a tad bit of luck along with a healthy understanding of the bird’s habits.

Form & Structure: Sometimes a boring subject turns interesting just because of form and/or structure. Tonight’s walkabout was getting pretty boring until this image jumped out at me only two blocks from home.

Daisies along the Walkabout: Tonight’s walkabout started a bit late. The mosquitos were getting bad half way through the walk. So, I picked up the pace a bit and only stopped for a simple click of these wild flowers.

Day Lily After this morning’s rain, the day turned cloudy and grey. Still, the flat light coming through the clouds provided an opportunity to saturate the colors in the flowers.
