Walkabout Path
Walkabout Path Some walkabout paths, like this one, have nice smooth surfaces; some don’t. I’ll be walking down this path even farther again soon.

Red-tailed Hawk And, that’s why it was named the Red-tailed Hawk. Actually, sometimes it’s very hard to see the red.
Plenty of helicopter come and go from the airport. However, it’s not often you see one on the ramp. This Airbus Helicopter was parked on the ramp as I was leaving the office today. It’s probably staying overnight. The taxiway lights had just come on signaling a nice night on its way.
This view of the Japanese Gardens along the Fox River looks over the bridge to the frozen Fox River beyond.
Firehole Falls at Yellowstone NP There’s nothing like Yellowstone in the winter. It’s my favorite time to visit the park; wish I was there. Firehole Falls at Yellowstone NP lies about a hundred feet below the road. It’s a bit of a decent and climb back up to get this shot; it’s dangerous. Actually, the rangers have now blocked off the way down to the river. Probably, too many people were falling; it’s really steep. I was the only fool from the snow coach to make the trip to the river bottom. I would not try it again without an experienced climbing buddy and a rope. Once along the river, what a reward. Firehole Falls aren’t real tall; just majestic. To capture this image, I used a tripod with its feet in the water. The river bank hugs the canyon wall so there’s not much room to maneuver. I tried to fall in the river, but luckily was unsuccessful. By the way, this image is not a B&W.
The majestic Bald Eagle, a very large raptor and national symbol of the United States, resides only on North America. Bald Eagles are just magnificent creatures and, of course, a photographer’s dream.
Wild Rabbit With fewer coyotes around, the wild rabbit populations have come back. Nice to see them. They were rarely seen for several years.
Canada Geese skimming the icy Fox River just inches from the thin layer of ice. The middle of the river had open water with ice floes slowing making their way down river. Occasionally, a goose would land on the ice flow and ride it for awhile. Nice but cold day for a walkabout!
