Backlight
Backlight can make a really cool photo. It can also make the image too bright with too much color cast.

The Iris blooming along my walkabout make the walk enjoyable even if no wildlife show up.

Wild Flowers Although my walkabouts tend to wind around several favorite routes each night, they also tend to vary each night. Most of the time, I have the 70-300mm lens attached in case wildlife shows up. Sometimes, even a telephoto can capture flowers in nice light.

Mute Swan The Mute Swans have returned to the same pond along my walkabout to have their young. Hoping to see those grey Cygnets soon; stay tuned.

Milkweed Pods Sometimes, you just have to go for artistic. Tonight’s walkabout had such nice light. It hit me to try for a black & white image with a touch of color. Well, no one would consider me an artist, still here’s my vision.

Menagerie Sundays can be days to visit curious and unique places; or, just a menagerie of stuff.

Spring also means flowers; particularly Iris. This spring has been so cold; the Iris are late. Hopefully, we’ll begin to see them next week. This image comes from last year about this time when the Iris were just beautiful.

Snapping Turtle Spring brings new life. It’s time for turtles to lay eggs. This Common Snapping Turtle came out onto cut grass in the warmth of the sun to lay her eggs. Notice her eyes; completely camouflaged. The Nikon 1 V1 with the 70-300mm (focal length 810mm) lens allowed me to stay far enough away to not disturb her. In August, hopefully, a few baby turtles will appear.
