City Walkway

City Walkway  Some days photo capturing gets a bit limited.  Today was one of those days.  For the Photogs among us, this image was captured after sunset, just before dark.  Notice the high ISO for a Nikon 1 V1.  Yet, after passing it through NIK Define to take out someof the noise, it’s not bad.  The most difficult part was waiting until the squirrel stayed still long enough to keep him in focus.

Wrigley Building

The Wrigley Building stands for Chicago.  It’s arguably the most, certainly one of the most, iconic buildings in the Chicago skyline.  This image was captured handheld.  It would have been nice to move a bit closer, but the middle of a busy street corner was not an option.

Point Betsie Lighthouse

Point Betsie Lighthouse in northern Michigan sees some pretty dramatic weather.  It really does not matter what time of the year, there’s plenty of good clouds, wind, and waves any time of the year.  And, in winter, the ice from wave spray can be spectacular.  Too get the best views, a short hike north up the beach is usually necessary.  Watch for wind surfers; they can make rather interesting images.

Kayaking

Kayaking  Boy meets kayak for the first time.  Obviously, they both had a good time.  This image was captured from another Kayak just before sunset after a half a day on the lake.  The Nikon 1 V1 continues to prove valuable as a smaller, lighter take along camera.
