Snowy Designs

Snowy Designs  My walkabout today included a path near a lake.  This dock was stacked up near the lake shore waiting for spring to arrive.  The snow seemed to make interesting designs.  Notice I have been using the 50mm f1.4 quite often.  The depth of field at f1.4 is razor thin, but tack sharp.

Night Falls

Night Falls: Winter in Illinois tends to be very cloudy most of thew time.  On this day, it has been cloudy all day, but just before sunset, the sun shines through.  Two minutes before or two minutes after, it’s gone.

Frosty Morning Whitetail Deer

2/14/2013 Frosty Morning Whitetail Deer

Frosty Morning Whitetail Deer:  The deer roam around the area mostly to get water from a nearby lake.  This morning as I was letting the dogs out to do their duty, this Whitetail stopped to see what was making all the noise.  Actually, the deer don’t seem to mind the dogs.  They seem to know exactly where the buried dog fence is located.  Occasionally, they come up to investigate just what a Pug dog is.  One morning I looked up to see the deer and one of our Pugs almost nose to nose.  Of course, before I could get the camera, the moment was gone.  So, now there’s a camera next to the back door.

Sunday morning after church, I was able to catch mom by surprise with my camera.   Mom always dressed up for church.  This image was taken with my third camera, a Minolta SRT-102, using Kodrachrome slide film.  Then, I scanned the slide using a Nikon slide scanner.
